San Antonio, TX The Exploration Company signed a one-lease agreement with Gas Systems Corporation-McKinney, TX to provide nitrogen generation equipment to conduct a demonstration test using nitrogen/steam injection into a heavy viscous oil formation located in the Maverick Basin in Southwest Texas.The Exploration Company (TXCO) is a San Antonio based independent oil and gas exploration and production company. The San Miguel Heavy Oil Recovery Project is targeting a large portion of the 7-10 billion barrels of heavy oil estimated to reside in the Maverick Basin. The oil recovery rate from steam injection may very well exceed 70% in some of the projects currently underway.
